Role Description

The Director of Taxation will oversee and manage all facets of tax services, including corporate, individual, and international tax compliance and advisory services. Day-to-day responsibilities include leading and mentoring the taxation team, ensuring compliance with tax laws, preparing sophisticated tax strategies, handling client relationships, and staying updated on changes in tax regulations. This full-time role is based on-site in Nairobi County, Kenya.

Qualifications

  • Strong expertise in Corporate Taxation, Individual Tax Compliance, and International Tax Compliance.
  • Proven experience in Tax Strategy Development, Tax Advisory Services, and Tax Regulations Analysis.
  • Leadership abilities to manage and mentor a dynamic taxation team.
  • Excellent skills in financial reporting and advanced proficiency in tax software and accounting tools.
  • Proficiency in client interaction, building relationships, and delivering tailored solutions.
  • Exceptional analytical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and attention to detail.
  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field. CPA or relevant professional certifications are required.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in taxation, with previous leadership or management roles.
  • Experience in consulting or working with global accounting networks or firms is an advantage.
  • Strong knowledge of Kenyan tax laws and international taxation standards is a must.
