Job Purpose:
Operate and maintain platen die cutting machines to ensure precise cutting, creasing, and embossing of printed materials according to job specifications. Maintain high quality standards and ensure production timelines are met.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate die cutting platen machines for cutting, creasing, and embossing paperboard or other printed materials
- Interpret job dockets and ensure accurate tooling and material setup
- Conduct quality checks to ensure die cut accuracy and finishing quality
- Perform machine maintenance and troubleshoot minor mechanical issues
- Ensure all safety protocols and company procedures are followed during operation
- Maintain cleanliness and order around the die cutting area
- Record production data including quantities cut, waste, and machine downtime
- Handle dies and cutting forms with care and store them properly
- Report any quality issues or machine faults to the supervisor immediately
Minimum Requirements:
- 1 year experience operating die cutting platen machines
- Strong understanding of print finishing processes and paper handling
- Ability to read and interpret job specs and production layouts
- Good attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Physically fit and able to lift materials/dies where needed
- Basic mechanical and troubleshooting skills
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work under pressure in a deadline-driven environment
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: R1 250,00 – R2 000,00 per week
