Role Description This full-time, on-site role in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of the Congo combines DevOps Engineer, ICT Integration, and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) responsibilities. The professional in this position will design, build, and maintain scalable infrastructure, ensuring high availability, reliability, and performance of applications and critical ICT systems. Daily tasks include implementing and managing CI pipelines, automating deployments, monitoring system health, and troubleshooting production incidents. The role also involves collaborating with software development and operations teams to integrate new services, standardize environments, and apply Infrastructure as Code practices. The engineer will contribute to capacity planning, security hardening, documentation, and continuous improvement of operational processes and tooling.
Qualifications

  • Strong Infrastructure as Code (IaC) skills, with experience using tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or similar for automated provisioning and configuration.
  • Professional experience in Software Development, including scripting or programming (e.g., Python, Go, Java, or similar) to build tools and automation pipelines.
  • Hands-on experience with Continuous Integration practices and tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, or similar) to support automated build, test, and deployment workflows.
  • Solid System Administration background, including managing servers, networking fundamentals, performance tuning, and troubleshooting across distributed environments.
  • Advanced Linux skills, with the ability to operate, secure, and optimize Linux-based production systems.
  • Experience with containerization and orchestration (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) is highly beneficial for deployment and scalability.
  • Familiarity with monitoring, logging, and alerting platforms (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK/EFK, or similar) to ensure observability and incident response.
  • Understanding of ICT integration, APIs, and system interoperability for connecting applications, services, and third-party platforms.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams and communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
