Mission and objectives
Enabling Rural Opportunity Network (ERONet), formerly, Agoro Community Development Association (ACDA) is a women-led community-based organization founded and operating in Lamwo District, Northern Uganda. The organization works with rural, post-conflict, and refugee-hosting communities to improve the well-being of vulnerable populations, particularly women, children, and youth. ERONet’s mission is to empower rural communities through interventions that strengthen girls’ education, improve household livelihoods, and enhance community resilience and protection systems. The organization has ongoing initiatives in girls’ education sponsorship, household economic strengthening, and community-based resilience, and works in collaboration with local government and development partners.
Context
This assignment contributes directly to strengthening the institutional capacity of Enabling Rural Opportunity Network (ERONet). As ERONet expands its work in rural and refugee-hosting communities in Lamwo District, there is a need to improve how the organization presents itself to donors, partners, and stakeholders. A strong organizational profile is critical for: Attracting funding and partnerships Supporting engagement with NGOs, UN agencies, and government actors Clearly communicating ERONet’s impact and strategic focus The volunteer’s contribution will help position ERONet as a credible and fundable local organization working in a high-need, underserved context.

Task description
ERONet is seeking support from an online volunteer to develop a professional, donor-ready organizational profile that clearly communicates its work, impact, and strategic direction. The volunteer will: Review existing ERONet documents (current profile, strategic plan draft, reports, and website) Restructure and rewrite the organizational profile into a clear, concise, and compelling format (2–3 pages) Align the profile with ERONet’s refined strategic focus areas (girls’ education, economic strengthening, and community resilience) Highlight key programs, partnerships, and results in a way that is attractive to donors and partners Ensure the language is professional, clear, and suitable for external audiences (NGOs, UN agencies, donors) Incorporate storytelling elements and impact-oriented messaging The assignment will be carried out remotely through: Email communication and document sharing 1–2 virtual meetings (if needed) for clarification and feedback Draft review and finalization based on comments from ERONet The final deliverable will be a well-structured, donor-friendly organizational profile ready for use in partnerships and fundraising.

Required Experience
Proven experience in proposal writing, organizational profiling, or NGO communications Strong writing, editing, and structuring skills in English Experience working with or supporting NGOs, community-based organizations, or development projects Ability to translate programmatic work into clear, results-oriented messaging Understanding of international development, humanitarian work, or donor expectations is an added advantage Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
