Mission and objectives
MISSION: Empowering men, women, youths and the disadvantaged with the tools necessary to help them improve the quality of their lives. We want the oppressed, the poor and less privileged to live a life of meaning and worth. Key programs of Goodness and Mercy Missions since 2007 are: Women Economic empowerment initiatives, child sponsorship, hassle free education for underprivileged children, computer training and youth livelihood projects.
Context
Young single mothers in the Boyo Division of Cameroon face a unique set of socio-economic challenges that threaten their well-being and that of their children. Without adequate support systems, they are at high risk of falling into cycles of poverty, exploitation, and poor health—hazards already observed in the community. This project aims to break this cycle by co-creating sustainable, empowering solutions that foster financial independence, personal agency, and resilience. Overall Mission: To recruit skilled volunteers who will collaborate with Goodness and Mercy Missions and community stakeholders to design a comprehensive, culturally relevant, and sustainable empowerment program. This program will equip young single mothers with the tools, skills, and resources needed to achieve long-term self-reliance and gain decisive leadership over their own lives and destinies.

Task description
Volunteers will be integral in the following phases of program development: Needs Assessment & Context Analysis: Conduct a systematic analysis to identify the primary challenges faced by young single mothers in Boyo Division (e.g., access to education, vocational skills, childcare, healthcare, micro-finance, social stigma). Program Design & Framework Development: Collaborate to design the core architecture of an empowerment program. This includes defining: Program Modules: (e.g., financial literacy, vocational training, entrepreneurship, psychosocial support, parenting skills). Delivery Methodology: (e.g., workshops, mentorship pairings, peer support groups). Success Metrics: Clear indicators for self-reliance, financial independence, and personal leadership. Proposal & Grant Writing: Develop compelling, well-structured project proposals. These documents will articulate the program's vision, methodology, budget, and expected impact to secure implementation funding. Funding Strategy & Partner Mapping: Research and identify potential funding sources aligned with the program's goals. This includes: International aid agencies and NGOs operating in Cameroon. Foundations focused on women's empowerment, youth, and economic development. Potential corporate social responsibility (CSR) partners.
