We are seeking passionate and experienced Heads of Department to lead our Science and Mathematics programs across our British and American curriculum divisions.
Head of Mathematics – American Division
Grades 1–9
Role Highlights
- Lead the Math department strategy, curriculum, and quality assurance aligned to American standards (Common Core State Standards)
- Design scope & sequence, units, and assessments covering number sense, algebra, geometry, data, and problem-solving
- Coach and appraise Math teachers through observations, feedback, and professional development
- Build a strong numeracy culture via problem-based learning, math talks, and targeted interventions
- Use data (formative, summative, MAP-style) to monitor progress and close gaps
- Model differentiated instruction for multilingual learners and embed mathematical thinking across the curriculum
- Manage resources, manipulatives, edtech tools, and interactive panels
- Liaise with parents, stakeholders, and school leadership; uphold safeguarding and whole-school policies
You Have
- MA in Mathematics, Education (Math-focused), or a related field (required); Bachelor's degree minimum with recognized teaching credential
- 5+ years of Math teaching in American curriculum schools, including leadership/coordination experience
- Deep knowledge of Math progression (Grades 1–9) and standards-aligned assessment practices
- Proven track record in raising attainment through curriculum design, coaching, and data-driven instruction
- Strong people leadership and a collaborative team culture mindset
- C2-level English proficiency; organized, proactive, and impact-driven
