Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care and assisting the dentist during various procedures. This position requires a strong understanding of dental terminology, infection control protocols, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Duties
- Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, ensuring a smooth workflow through effective chairside assisting techniques.
- Prepare and maintain the treatment area, including sterilization of instruments and adherence to aseptic techniques.
- Take and develop dental X-rays while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Record patient medical histories, vital signs, and medical documentation accurately in EMR systems such as Eaglesoft.
- Manage dental records and ensure proper medical coding for billing purposes.
- Provide support in pediatric dentistry by creating a welcoming environment for young patients.
- Utilize 3D scanners for imaging when necessary and assist in prosthodontics and endodontics procedures.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
- Collaborate with the dental receptionist to schedule appointments and manage patient flow effectively.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Dental Assistant in a clinical setting, with familiarity in general dentistry practices.
- Proficient knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and infection control standards.
- Experience with EMR systems such as , or Eaglesoft is preferred.
- Ability to perform medical imaging and maintain accurate medical records.
- Understanding of pediatric dentistry principles is an advantage.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to interact positively with patients of all ages.
- Certification in dental assisting or relevant qualifications is preferred but not mandatory.
