POSITION INFO:
A well-established company is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Debtors Clerk to join its finance team based in Muizenberg, Cape Town. This role is responsible for managing accounts receivable, ensuring accurate record-keeping, and maintaining positive customer relationships while ensuring timely collections.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of customer accounts, including payment terms and outstanding balances
- Follow up with customers via phone and email to collect outstanding payments
- Ensure that signed invoices and supporting documentation are received and correctly filed
- Generate and send customer statements and invoices
- Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies and disputes in collaboration with internal teams
- Monitor accounts receivable ageing and prioritise collection activities
- Prepare regular reports on debtor status and collection progress for management
- Maintain detailed records of customer interactions and payment arrangements
- Work closely with sales and administrative teams to resolve payment-related matters
- Maintain professional customer relationships while ensuring the timely payment of accounts
Job Experience and Skills Required:
- Diploma in Accounting / Financial Management
- 3-5 years’ finance experience
- High proficiency in MS Excel and MS Office
