Are you a seasoned database expert who loves optimizing performance and ensuring system reliability? In this role, you will take ownership of the administration, operation, and continuous optimization of our database environments and selected business applications. You will act as a vital technical bridge between our business units, internal IT teams, and external service providers to ensure seamless operations.
Your Responsibilities
- Database Administration: Administer, install, monitor, and operate database servers with a strong focus on Microsoft SQL Server (both on-premises and in cloud environments).
- Architecture & Strategy: Advise internal and external customers on database architectures, backup strategies, disaster recovery, and high-availability solutions.
- Optimization & Analysis: Structure, analyze, and implement business requirements while driving continuous performance and stability optimizations.
- Application Support: Support department-specific applications across 1st, 2nd, and (where required) 3rd level support, including coordinating with external application vendors.
- ITSM & Incident Management: Take on defined ITSM roles (Incident, Problem, and Change Manager), handling escalations as a single point of contact for complex issues.
- Reporting & Documentation: Create reports, analyses, and dashboards for monitoring purposes, and maintain comprehensive technical documentation.
- Compliance & Security: Ensure strict compliance with information security requirements, confidentiality obligations, and legal regulations.
- Availability: Participate in on-call duties when required.
Your Profile
- Education: Completed vocational training as an IT Specialist, a comparable professional qualification, or a degree in Computer Science, Business Informatics, or a related field.
- Certifications: ITILv4 Foundation certification is required.
- Database Expertise: Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft SQL Server (or comparable database systems).
- BI Stack Knowledge: Good working knowledge of the Microsoft BI Stack (SSIS, SSRS, SSAS).
- IT Fundamentals: Broad, solid general IT knowledge across infrastructure, systems, hardware, software, and networking.
- Language Skills: Fluent German (at least B1 level) AND fluent English (at least B1 level).
Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have)
- MCSA certification for Microsoft SQL Server (or equivalent database certifications).
- Experience with cloud architectures, preferably Microsoft Azure or AWS.
