Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Database Administrator with fintech experience to manage, secure, and optimise the organisation's database infrastructure. The ideal candidate will ensure high database availability, performance, security, and data integrity while supporting business operations.
Key Responsibilities
Design, implement, and maintain high-availability database systems.
Monitor database performance and optimize queries.
Manage database backup, recovery, security, and disaster recovery processes.
Install patches, upgrades, and database updates.
Define and enforce database policies, standards, and best practices.
Troubleshoot database issues and provide user support.
Work with vendors and internal IT teams to resolve database-related issues.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience as a Database Administrator, with experience in the fintech or financial services industry.
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, or MariaDB.
- Strong knowledge of SQL, database performance tuning, backup and recovery, and database security.
- Experience with database monitoring and administration tools.
- Knowledge of APIs and report generation is an added advantage.
- Relevant database certifications are an advantage.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
