To accelerate our impact, we are seeking a Grant Fundraising Specialist who will play a pivotal role in securing global funding to support development projects across creative and digital sectors.
The Role
The Grant Fundraising Specialist will be responsible for identifying, cultivating, and securing grant funding from international foundations, development agencies, and corporate social responsibility (CSR) programs that support creative and digital industries. This role requires a proactive, detail-oriented professional who can build strong relationships with donors, tailor proposals to their requirements, and drive funding success to support Ananse’s mission.
Responsibilities
Grant Pipeline Development
· Create and manage a pipeline of global grant funders focused on development projects in creative and digital industries.
· Research and identify new funding opportunities aligned with Ananse’s mission and growth strategy.
· Maintain an updated database of funders, deadlines, and requirements.
Proposal Development and Submission
· Determine funders’ specific requirements and tailor proposals accordingly.
· Draft compelling grant applications that clearly articulate Ananse’s impact, vision, and measurable outcomes.
· Collaborate with internal teams to gather data, case studies and financial informations for proposals.
· Submit proposals on time and ensure compliance with funder guidelines.
Donor Engagement and Relationship Management
· Follow up with funders through meetings, presentations, and facility tours to strengthen relationships and close funding opportunities.
· Represent Ananse Africa to donors with professionalism and credibility.
· Build long-term partnerships with funders to secure recurring support.
Reporting and Accountability
· Track grant applications, submissions, and outcomes.
· Provide regular updates to Ananse leadership on fundraising pipeline and performance.
Requirements
· Bachelor’s degree in Development Studies, Business, Communications, or related field.
· Proven experience in grant fundraising, donor relations, or development finance.
· Strong track record of securing grants or funding from international donors.
· Excellent writing skills with the ability to craft persuasive proposals.
· Strong research and analytical skills to identify funding opportunities.
· Ability to manage multiple deadlines and funding pipelines simultaneously.
· Confident communicator with experience in donor presentations and relationship building.
· Knowledge of creative and digital industries is an advantage.
· Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to work independently and deliver results.
· Willingness to work outside of normal working hours.
