Mission and objectives

Mission The mission of this assignment is to support the development and coordination of a continent-wide network of Youth Development Correspondents who research, document, and communicate youth development policies, institutions, opportunities, and initiatives across Africa. The volunteer will help ensure that contributors remain engaged, productive, and connected while supporting the African Lecture Series and Voices of the Emerging Africa platform. Objectives 1. Support the coordination of Youth Development Correspondents across Africa. 2. Monitor participation, assignments, and content submissions. 3. Assist with onboarding and orientation of new volunteers. 4. Support communication between correspondents and AYM leadership. 5. Track volunteer activities and project milestones. 6. Assist in organizing virtual meetings and contributor engagement activities. 7. Promote collaboration and knowledge sharing among correspondents. 8. Support reporting on project progress and volunteer participation. 9. Help strengthen the quality and consistency of outputs across the network. 10. Contribute to the growth and sustainability of the Youth Development Correspondents Network.

Context

AYM is building a continent-wide network of Youth Development Correspondents who research and present information on youth development policies, institutions, and opportunities throughout Africa. As participation grows, effective coordination becomes critical to maintaining engagement, quality, and consistency. This assignment supports the management and development of the network while helping ensure that contributors can successfully share knowledge that benefits young people across Africa. Volunteers from all African countries may apply.

Task description

The volunteer will support the coordination of a growing network of Youth Development Correspondents located across Africa. Responsibilities include: * Supporting volunteer onboarding. * Maintaining volunteer records. * Tracking assignments and deliverables. * Monitoring participation and engagement. * Coordinating communication with correspondents. * Supporting virtual meetings and training sessions. * Preparing activity summaries and progress reports. * Assisting with project scheduling and workflow management. * Identifying participation challenges and recommending solutions. * Supporting the expansion of the correspondent network. Expected Deliverables * Volunteer tracking system. * Monthly participation reports. * Correspondent directory. * Meeting summaries. * Engagement recommendations. * Progress updates.
