Job Title: Contracts Manager
Reports to: General Manager
Job Summary:
Crusade Logistics is seeking a highly organised and results driven Contracts Manager to oversee and coordinate the depot transport operations, administration, HSE (Health, Safety, Security, and Environment), and HR functions. This role is critical in ensuring a cost-effective, compliant, and efficient operation that consistently meets customer expectations while upholding high safety and performance standards.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for optimising business processes, maximising resource utilisation, and ensuring smooth day-to-day operational execution.
Key Responsibilities:
Operations Management
- Manage daily transport operations and ensure optimal asset utilization.
- Coordinate planning with the Compliance Officer and ensure adequate driver availability.
- Monitor absenteeism and ensure timely communication of driver shift rosters.
- Oversee timely completion and submission of salary acknowledgements to HR.
Performance & Efficiency
- Monitor operational efficiency in real time, ensuring timely trip completion.
- Investigate and resolve kilometers discrepancies promptly.
- Address lateness and fuel consumption irregularities as needed.
Legal & HSE Compliance
- Ensure proper reporting and documentation of incidents and accidents.
- Monitor driver duty hours and maintain compliance with legal requirements.
- Oversee training compliance and implement remedial actions where necessary.
Fleet & Vehicle Compliance
- Ensure timely vehicle inspections, services, and repairs.
- Enforce vehicle cleanliness and maintenance standards.
- Maintain compliance with all legal and customer vehicle requirements
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Grade 12
Tertiary qualification in Logistics – Transport management of studying towards one will be an advantage
3 years or more transport experience
ADVANTAGE if you have fuel logistics experience!!
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
- Management of staff
- Reliable and assertive
- Pro-active and ability to take initiative
- Must have own transport
- Strong admin skills
- Problem solving abilities
- Computer literate
