ROLE OVERVIEW
The Contract / Commercial Manager – PMCM Core Team is a senior, office-based role responsible for contractual, commercial, and claims governance across multiple PMCM projects in Egypt and overseas. This position does not handle daily site commercial administration, but provides strategic oversight, control, and advisory support to site-based commercial and contract teams.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Contract & Commercial Governance
- Establish and enforce PMCM-wide contract and commercial management standards, procedures, and controls.
- Ensure alignment with PMCM service contracts, client requirements, and applicable regulations.
- Act as the central commercial authority, providing guidance and approvals on key contractual matters.
- Identify commercial and contractual risks at portfolio level and define mitigation strategies.
Contract Administration & Advisory
- Oversee contract administration throughout the project lifecycle, including amendments & correspondence.
- Review and advise on contractual rights, obligations, and risk exposure.
- Support preparation and review of contractual notices, submissions, and formal communications.
- Provide commercial advice to PMCM management and project leadership teams.
Claims, Variations & Change Control
- Govern the preparation, evaluation, and management of claims, variations, and change orders.
- Review entitlement assessments related to time and cost impacts.
- Support negotiation, resolution, and settlement of claims at senior management level.
- Coordinate with planning, cost, and document control teams to ensure claims substantiation.
Compliance, Reporting & Performance Control
- Ensure commercial activities comply with contractual requirements and PMCM standards.
- Maintain oversight of commercial records, claims logs, and contractual documentation.
- Prepare consolidated commercial reports covering contract status, claims exposure, and key risks.
- Support audits, reviews, and dispute resolution processes as required.
QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in Law, Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or related discipline
- 12+ years of experience in contract and commercial management within construction, EPC, or PMCM environments
- Proven experience in multi-project and/or multi-country commercial oversight
- Strong knowledge of contract administration, claims management, and change control
- Experience supporting negotiation and dispute resolution
- Solid commercial risk analysis and reporting capability
- Demonstrated leadership and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to operate in a multicultural, international environment
- Willingness to travel periodically to project sites and overseas locations
