The Research Investment for Global Health Technology Foundation (RIGHT Foundation, https://rightfoundation.kr/en) is a research funding agency dedicated to supporting global health research and development (R&D) through a three-way partnership among the Government of Korea, the Gates Foundation and life science companies.

The RIGHT Foundation (hereinafter “the Foundation”), which aims to advance global health equity and supports the development of essential health technologies as global public goods, is seeking a new (Senior) Finance Officer to strengthen financial management, enhance effective project budget oversight, and reinforce internal controls across the organization.

Position

This position is designed to ensure the financial integrity and operational effectiveness of the RIGHT Foundation’s expanding financial operations and investment portfolio by managing cash flow, overseeing financial reporting, and supporting the budgeting and monitoring of investment projects.

The role will also contribute to building a robust linkage between investment decisions and financial sustainability through improved forecasting, portfolio analytics, and accountability mechanisms.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Financial Management & Internal Control
  • Strengthen and maintain internal financial control of the foundation in compliance with organizational and donor/funder requirements
  • Oversee cashflow planning, liquidity forecasting, and portfolio-level fund flow management
  • Review and reconcile project expenditures against budgets, ensuring compliance with approved financial frameworks; lead communication with grantee project/finance teams to resolve budgeting and financial reporting issues
  • Coordinate internal and external financial audits and ensure timely follow-up on audit recommendations
  • Investment & Project Finance Operations
  • Manage financial due diligence for new investment projects and approved projects
  • Support financial modeling, risk assessment, and provide guidance on investment contracts
  • Monitor financial performance of portfolio projects and track fund disbursement schedules
  • Ensure compliance with grant and investment terms, managing documentation and reporting obligations
  • Institutional Finance & Reporting
  • Analyze and support preparation of financial statements for management review
  • Preparation of consolidated financial reports for funders, the board, and regulatory authorities
  • Develop and refine internal reporting templates to enhance transparency and decision-making
  • Banking & Accounting Support
  • Liaise with banking partners for fund transfers, FX transactions, and account reconciliations
  • Support general accounting, journal entries, and month-end closing activities in collaboration with accounting staff

Qualifications

  • Education Requirements
    • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s preferred)
  • Related Work Experience
    • Minimum 7+ years of progressive experience in finance, preferably in investment management, project finance, or institutional fund management
    • Strong analytical skills with ability to interpret complex financial data and trends
    • Professional experience managing cash flow, financial control systems, and project management
    • Experience in donor-funded, foundation-based, or blended-finance structures would be an asset (preferred, but not required)
    • Certification such as CFA, FRM, or CPA would be an asset (preferred, but not required)
  • Language/Nationality
    • Excellent written and spoken English (working-level proficiency required for investor communication)
    • Open to all nationalities (work experience in Korea is preferred)

Working Conditions

  • Recruiting type: Regular (3-month probation period included)

  • Salary: TBD after discussion. The Foundation offers a competitive salary commensurate with experience.
