Cape Projects Construction is seeking an experienced and driven Contracts Manager to join our team. We are a dynamic growing construction company working closely with an established property developer on a range of residential and mixed-use developments. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has strong commercial and project management skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage multiple construction projects from inception to completion
- Administer and manage building contracts (JBCC experience essential)
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to required quality standards
- Manage subcontractors, suppliers, and professional teams
- Monitor project costs, cash flow, and financial reporting
- Identify and mitigate all project risks
- Ensure compliance with all statutory, safety, and regulatory requirements
- Liaise with clients, consultants, council, NHBRC and internal stakeholders
- Handle claims, variations, and contractual correspondence
Minimum Requirements
- Relevant qualification in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or similar
- Minimum 5–10 years’ experience in a Contracts Manager or Senior Site Management role
- Strong knowledge of JBCC contracts and construction law
- Proven track record managing residential or mixed-use developments
- Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills
- Strong financial and commercial acumen
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Proficient in CCS and Smartsheets
Advantageous
- Experience working directly for a property developer or in a developer-led environment
- Exposure to medium- to high-density residential developments
- Professional registration (or working towards it)
