Job Summary
The Construction Accountant is responsible for managing and monitoring the financial activities of construction projects, ensuring accurate cost tracking, budget control, financial reporting, and compliance with company policies and accounting standards. The role requires close coordination with project managers, procurement teams, and other stakeholders to ensure effective financial management of projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare, review, and monitor project budgets and cost reports.
- Track project expenditures and ensure costs are allocated accurately.
- Prepare and process contractors’ and subcontractors’ payment certificates (Interim Payment Certificates).
- Monitor project cash flow and forecast future financial requirements.
- Review and manage change orders and their financial impact on project budgets.
- Reconcile project-related accounts and ensure accurate financial records.
- Prepare monthly financial reports, cost analysis, and variance reports for management.
- Ensure compliance with accounting policies, tax regulations, and company procedures.
- Coordinate with project teams to verify project progress and financial status.
- Support internal and external audits related to construction projects.
- Maintain proper documentation and filing of all project financial transactions.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum 5-8 years of experience in construction project accounting.
- SAPB1/ERP/Odoo experience
- English and Arabic language
- Strong experience in project cost control, budgeting, and financial reporting.
- Good knowledge of payment certificates, change orders, and project cost monitoring.
- Proficiency in accounting systems and Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to analyze project costs and prepare detailed financial reports.
- Previous experience in construction, contracting, or engineering companies is highly preferred.
