Job Overview
William A. Hazel, Inc., a total site development contractor for over 60 years, is looking for an experienced Concrete Finisher in the Concrete Division. This role focuses on exterior concrete work including sidewalks, curbs, gutters, and flatwork. We’re looking for someone who takes pride in clean, quality finishes and understands how to work efficiently in a production-driven environment.
Duties
- Place, form, and finish concrete for sidewalks, curbs, gutters, and other site concrete
- Perform finishing techniques including screeding, floating, edging, and broom finishing
- Set and align forms to proper grade and elevation
- Read and work from site plans, grade stakes, and layout provided by field teams
- Ensure proper slope, drainage, and overall finish quality
- Work closely with crews to maintain production and meet schedules
- Monitor curing process and protect finished surfaces
- Maintain a clean and safe work area at all times
Skills
- 3+ years of concrete finishing experience in site development or heavy civil work
- Strong knowledge of exterior flatwork (sidewalks, curbs, gutters)
- Ability to read grades and understand layout for proper drainage
- Experience with hand tools and finishing equipment
- Attention to detail and pride in delivering high-quality work
- Dependable, team-oriented, and safety-focused
- Willingness to work overtime as needed
