Job Summary
To manage internal and external communication for the organization's scholarship Program, ensuring clear messaging, strong brand positioning, and effective engagement with stakeholders.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive communications and brand strategy aligned with the organization's policy
- Draft high-level correspondence on behalf of Executives, including responses to sensitive or complex matters
- Manage branding, media relations, and public information activities in line with directive from the program Director and Advisory Board
- Ensure scholarship program processes, requirements, and outcomes are clearly communicated and easily understood by external stakeholders
- Identify communication gaps and recommend improvements to processes and messaging
- Develop reports, newsletters, website content, and social media communications
- Coordinate communication with partners and beneficiaries
- Support program teams with advocacy and visibility materials
- Translate technical program information into clear, accessible language for external audiences
- Ensure the organization's messaging aligns with the strategy and values of the Foundation
- Monitor media coverage/ social media and manage reputational risks, and advise the Advisory Board and program director in navigating social media narratives
Key Requirements Education and Work Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication, Public Relations, Public Administration, Social Sciences, or any relevant field
- Minimum of 8-10 years’ relevant experience
- Experience in education or non‑profit organisations preferred Skills and Competencies
- Strategic communication planning
- Strong experience with public relations tools including media rating measurement, developing press and marketing campaign materials and measurement, customer and stakeholder research, digital communications etc.
- Good judgement and crisis management skills and experience
- Ability to interact with and influence a wide range of stakeholders
- Strong written and verbal communication
