Marto Lafitte & Associates Inc (MLA) is a well-established legal practice based in Bedfordview, Johannesburg. We are seeking an experienced Collections Paralegal to join our team.
The Role
You will manage and drive a debt collection portfolio from instruction through to execution, handling all aspects of the collections process within a professional attorney environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Drafting and processing section 129 notices, summonses, default judgments, warrants of execution and related legal documentation
- Managing portfolios and ensuring matters progress within required timelines
- Liaising with clients, sheriffs, courts and other stakeholders
- Working on collections software
- Reporting on portfolio performance and status
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years' experience in collections
- Prior experience working within an attorney firm is essential
- Experience in banking-related collections (foreclosures, mortgage/home loan recovery) will be a strong advantage
- South African citizenship
- Based in or near Johannesburg
