The purpose of a Coffee Shop Manager is to oversee the general management and operations of a SMALL coffee shop that operates for charitable purposes. The primary goal is to ensure that the shop operations run smoothly and efficiently while maximising profit and achieving targets.
Key Roles and Responsibilities
· Coffee shop operations
· Sales and profit maximisation
· Stock control and stock management and valuation
· Volunteer management
· Customer Service
Key Tasks
· Managing the Coffee Shop in a profitable and business-like manner, maximising sales, and profits. Managing costs and maintaining financial controls.
· Ensuring appropriate stock levels, pricing food items accordingly, and maintaining a high standard of display.
· Menu management – adding new items or special items to the menu.
· Ensure invoices are prepared and paid.
· Taking of orders, serving customers, and giving them their bills
· Preparation and serving of food.
· Event management – when there are specific events, determine the menu, ensure the required stock is on hand, ensure the required staff are on hand
· Staffing of the shop during operating hours inclusive of volunteers.
· Providing excellent customer service, answering inquiries, and addressing customer needs.
· Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, fire procedures, and other legal requirements.
· Promoting the coffee shop’s mission, supporting fundraising campaigns, and fostering community outreach and community involvement
· Marketing and promotions – managing social media accounts for the coffee shop such as Facebook, Instagram etc.
· Assist with special events in the Home such as standing end of year events and markets.
· Promote and forge new relationships with new donors.
· Liaising with suppliers and ordering of stock
· Assisting with the morning set up of chairs and tables and packing up of the same at closing
· Ensure that the restaurant area is clean and compliant with the health & safety regulations.
· Submit monthly report to the Home Manager
