We are urgently looking for a Code 14 Tanker Driver to safely operate heavy-duty articulated tanker trucks to transport bulk liquids (such as chemicals and liquid products) between depots, plants, and customers while complying with road safety and hazardous goods regulations.
Minimum Requirements
- Valid Code 14 (EC) driver’s licence
- Valid DGD (Dangerous Goods )
- Grade 12 (Preferred)
- Minimum 3–5 years Code 14 driving experience
- Experience with tankers or heavy vehicles (advantage)
Key
Duties & Responsibilities
- Safely operate articulated tanker trucks (Superlinks/interlinks)
- Transport bulk liquid products
- Plan and follow efficient delivery routes
- Drive defensively in all weather and traffic conditions
- Supervise or perform safe loading/unloading of liquids
- Connect hoses and operate pumping systems
- Ensure correct sealing and valve safety procedures
- Follow Road Traffic Act & OHSA regulations
- Comply with hazardous materials / DG transport rules
- Perform daily vehicle inspections (tyres, brakes, tank seals, lights)
- Report defects, leaks, or incidents immediately
- Carry fire extinguishers and emergency equipment
- Complete logbooks, delivery notes, and trip sheets
- Record fuel quantities, seal numbers, and delivery confirmations
- Report mileage, delays, and incidents
- Communicate with dispatch and site supervisors
- Maintain professional conduct with clients
- Assist with basic vehicle care and cleanliness
