About the Role

Are you an experienced General Practitioner ready to take on a leadership role within a growing multidisciplinary healthcare practice?

We are seeking a high-calibre Clinical Lead & Associate General Practitioner to drive clinical excellence, operational efficiency, and long-term sustainability at our Fourways branch.

This is more than a traditional GP role. As the primary on-site clinical leader, you will play a key role in shaping patient care, guiding multidisciplinary collaboration, and contributing to the strategic growth of the practice. You will be supported by a dedicated administrative and operational team, allowing you to focus on delivering outstanding patient outcomes while helping to build a thriving healthcare service.

Key ResponsibilitiesClinical Excellence

  • Deliver high-quality primary healthcare services across a broad spectrum of acute and chronic conditions.
  • Independently assess, diagnose, and manage patients of all ages.
  • Perform minor procedures including wound care, suturing, abscess drainage, joint injections, and other office-based interventions.
  • Manage chronic disease programmes and preventative healthcare initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate, compliant, and comprehensive clinical records.

Clinical Leadership & Multidisciplinary Coordination

  • Provide clinical leadership within a multidisciplinary team including nurses, physiotherapists, psychologists, occupational therapists, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Facilitate effective communication and coordinated patient care across disciplines.
  • Support the development and implementation of clinical protocols and quality improvement initiatives.

Practice Operations

  • Participate in day-to-day operational decision-making.
  • Assist in managing patient flow, appointment capacity, and clinical efficiency.
  • Ensure accurate clinical documentation and day-sheet management.
  • Contribute to maintaining high standards of patient service and experience.

Financial Performance & Sustainability

  • Develop an understanding of practice financial performance and key business metrics.
  • Support revenue growth through effective clinical service delivery and multidisciplinary referrals where appropriate.
  • Ensure accurate coding and billing in accordance with medical aid and regulatory requirements.

Compliance & Reporting

  • Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, ethical standards, and POPIA requirements.
  • Assist with clinical reporting, medical aid documentation, and quality assurance processes.
  • Promote best practices in clinical governance and patient safety.

Patient & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Build strong, long-term relationships with patients and healthcare partners.
  • Contribute to initiatives aimed at improving patient retention, satisfaction, and continuity of care.
  • Work collaboratively with suppliers, service providers, and referral networks.

What We Are Looking ForQualifications

  • Registered with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as an Independent Medical Practitioner.
  • MBChB or equivalent recognised medical qualification.

Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years post-community service clinical experience.
  • Strong experience managing a broad range of primary care presentations in a busy practice environment.
  • Experience in urgent care, occupational health, sports medicine, or procedural medicine will be advantageous.

Clinical Competence

  • Confident in managing acute presentations and medical emergencies within a primary care setting.
  • Strong procedural skills and independent clinical decision-making ability.
  • Commitment to evidence-based medicine and high-quality patient care.

Leadership & Business Acumen

  • Demonstrated leadership potential and ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Commercial awareness and understanding of private healthcare operations.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a desire to contribute to the growth and success of the practice.
