Role Summary

The Clinical Digital Lead will facilitate best practice and efficiency in the clinical domain through the implementation of focused clinical digital improvement strategies. They will review, analyze, and interpret data to enable excellent, cost-effective digitally enabled practices across all levels of clinical practice within the facilities, from individual practitioners to facility-level digital processes and protocols. This individual will collaborate with the Health Informatics Officer (HIO), Regional Clinical & Digital Manager (RCDM), Digital Advisory Boards (DAB), Physician Advisory Boards (PAB), clinicians and relevant Hospital and Netcare ExCo team members to drive Netcare’s digitization strategy. The Clinical Digital Lead will manage the maintenance of the CareOn electronic medical record system in Netcare facilities, by coordinating and/or providing the training and operational support to medical doctors and other healthcare providers, with an aim to facilitate the best and safest care that is digitally enabled. This individual will play a pivotal role in the development, continual refinement, and adoption of the CareOn app, and will serve as a pivotal liaison between clinicians, RCDM’s, as well as relevant Hospital and Netcare ExCo members during the maintenance period. The individual will facilitate communications and feedback from and to the project team as well as the end-users at a facility level, by continual garnering feedback, identifying areas for improvement and developing appropriate solutions to address said areas.

Inherent Requirements

Degree at NQF level 7 is essential.

3-5 years working experience in a healthcare/clinical environment.

  • Experience in training, coaching, and mentoring and providing IT system support to end users. Experience in working on an electronic medical record (EMR) system

Knowledge and support of the ever-evolving Netcare strategy of patient centred Health and care. Continuously deepen the awareness of the strategy to address new challenges within the Healthcare sector, to build a competitive advantage and sustainability through the Netcare moat strategy.

An advanced level of Computer Literacy and proficiency in MS Office applications.

Knowledge of health-related policies, procedures and legislation would be beneficial.

Strong interpersonal skills: developing and maintaining positive relationships; communicating clearly and effectively with people at all levels with verbal and nonverbal communication; working with others to identify, define and solve problems; managing conflict resolution.

Demonstrates excellent organisational skills: organised and structured. Manage timelines to ensure that work is completed timeously.

Multi-tasking ability and the ability to handle stressful situations, difficult stakeholders (internal and external) appropriately and superior levels of patience and conflict resolution abilities.

Ability and experience in recognising developmental areas in others and supporting them through coaching to overcome these.

Excellent attention to detail.
