Chief Marketing Officer (Event Marketing)
Health Is Freedom — Tampa, FL
Type: Full-Time
Location: Tampa, FL (Hybrid)
Reports to: Founder / CEO
Compensation: Base plus Bonus
ABOUT THE ROLE
Health Is Freedom is a fast-growing wellness brand selling vibration plates and red light therapy devices through live tradeshows, seminars, and multi-channel digital marketing. We’re looking for a hands-on Marketer who can own strategy and execution across every channel — someone who has agency DNA and knows how to get the most out of a team of vendors, agencies, and internal staff.
WHAT YOU’LL OWN
In-person event operations
- Own and maintain the pre/post-event checklist for every tradeshow and seminar
- Review recordings of the event introduction and provide structured feedback to presenters
- Track and submit accurate show-up numbers for every event within 24 hours of close
- Run a full P&L statement for each event — cost vs. revenue, cost per attendee, revenue per unit sold
- Identify underperforming shows and make data-backed recommendations to cut, scale, or adjust
Lifecycle & email marketing
- Own all post-event email follow-up flows — timing, copy direction, segmentation, and performance
- Drive VIP upgrade campaigns to convert attendees into higher-ticket purchasers
- Manage nurture sequences for leads who attended but did not purchase on-site
- Brief and manage lifecycle agency or contractor against open/click/revenue KPIs
Digital advertising
- Manage paid social and search spend (Meta, Google, YouTube) via agency partners
- Hold agencies accountable to agreed ROAS, CPL, and CPA targets
- Review creative briefs and ad performance weekly — push for iteration when results lag
- Determine which digital channels warrant further investment based on event and online data
Direct mail
- Manage direct mail campaigns targeting event attendee lists and purchased wellness audiences
- Coordinate with print/mail vendors on timelines, list hygiene, and creative
- Track response rates and attribute revenue back to mail drops
Team & agency management
- Serve as the internal point of contact for all external agency and vendor relationships
- Run weekly or bi-weekly check-ins with each agency; keep KPI scorecards up to date
- Manage internal marketing staff (coordinators, designers) against project timelines
- Synthesize cross-channel performance into a clear monthly report for leadership — translating data into plain-language insights and actionable recommendations
- Help drive traffic to our office in Riverview
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
Must-haves
- 3–6 years of marketing experience, with at least 2 years at an agency
- Proven experience managing digital ad budgets ($20K+/mo)
- Hands-on experience with email/lifecycle platforms (Klaviyo, HubSpot, ActiveCampaign, or similar)
- Comfortable building and reading a P&L; data-driven decision maker
- Experience managing external vendors or agencies against KPIs
- Strong project management skills — you run the checklist, not the other way around
- Exceptional communicator — able to align agencies, staff, and leadership with clarity and confidence, whether in writing, on calls, or in person at events
- Proactive and concise in written communication — comfortable owning vendor briefs, internal status updates, and performance recaps without hand-holding
Nice-to-haves
- Experience marketing at live events, tradeshows, or direct sales environments
- Background in health, wellness, or consumer product categories
- Familiarity with SMS marketing and direct mail
- Experience with CRM tools (GoHighLevel, Salesforce, or similar)
- Comfort presenting performance results directly to founders or executives
