Job Purpose:

The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is responsible for overseeing the financial health and strategic financial direction of the company. The role involves managing financial planning, budgeting, reporting, compliance, risk management, and supporting executive management in achieving business objectives.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
  • CA(SA) qualification will be advantageous
  • Minimum 5–10 years’ experience in a senior financial management role
  • Experience within the electrical, construction, engineering, or contracting industry preferred
  • Strong knowledge of budgeting, cash flow management, financial reporting, tax, and compliance
  • Experience with payroll systems, audits, and project-based financial management
  • Excellent leadership, analytical, and communication skills

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the company’s financial operations and strategy
  • Prepare and manage budgets, forecasts, and financial reports
  • Ensure compliance with statutory and tax requirements
  • Manage cash flow, financial risks, and company investments
  • Lead finance and payroll departments
  • Support executive decision-making with financial insights
  • Liaise with auditors, banks, and regulatory bodies

Key Responsibilities:Financial Management & Strategy

  • Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with company objectives
  • Prepare annual budgets, forecasts, and financial plans
  • Monitor company cash flow, expenditure, and profitability
  • Provide strategic financial advice to management and directors
  • Analyse financial performance and recommend corrective actions where necessary

Financial Reporting

  • Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
  • Ensure proper maintenance of accounting records and financial systems
  • Present financial reports to directors and stakeholders
  • Oversee management accounts and project costing

Compliance & Risk Management

  • Ensure compliance with tax regulations, labour legislation, and financial regulations
  • Manage audits and liaise with external auditors
  • Monitor internal controls and financial risks
  • Ensure statutory submissions are completed accurately and on time

Payroll & Operational Oversight

  • Oversee payroll and employee financial administration
  • Monitor procurement and expenditure controls
  • Supervise finance department staff and ensure efficient operations
  • Support tendering and project financial evaluations

Stakeholder Management

  • Liaise with banks, auditors, SARS, insurers, and regulatory bodies
  • Assist management with financial decision-making and investment planning
  • Support operational departments with financial guidance

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
  • Professional qualification such as CA(SA), CIMA, or ACCA advantageous
  • Minimum 5–10 years’ experience in senior financial management
  • Experience within electrical, engineering, construction, or contracting environment preferred
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, tax, budgeting, and financial systems
  • Proficiency in Sage, Pastel, or related accounting/payroll systems

Employment Type:

Full-Time Permanent Position

Pay: R25 000,00 – R35 000,00 per month
