We are seeking an experienced and commercially astute Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join our leadership team. This role will be responsible for overseeing all financial aspects of the organisation, driving financial strategy, ensuring robust financial governance, and supporting long-term business growth.
The successful candidate will act as a strategic partner to the CEO and Board, providing insight, leadership, and direction across financial planning, risk management, and operational performance.
Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Strategy & Leadership
- Develop and execute the company’s financial strategy in alignment with overall business objectives
- Provide strategic recommendations to the CEO and Board based on financial analysis and projections
- Lead long-term financial planning, forecasting, and budgeting processes
- Support business expansion, investment decisions, and growth initiatives
Financial Management & Reporting
- Oversee all financial operations, including accounting, treasury, tax, and financial reporting
- Ensure timely and accurate preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
- Manage cash flow, working capital, and financial risk effectively
- Present financial performance reports to the Board and key stakeholders
Governance, Risk & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory, statutory, and financial reporting requirements
- Establish and maintain strong internal controls and financial governance frameworks
- Oversee audits and liaise with external auditors and advisors
- Manage financial risks and implement mitigation strategies
Operational & Commercial Support
- Partner with operational teams to improve financial performance and efficiency
- Provide insight into cost management, pricing strategies, and profitability
- Support contract negotiations, commercial agreements, and financial modelling
- Drive operational improvements and cost optimisation initiatives
Team Leadership
- Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team
- Build a high-performing finance function aligned with business objectives
- Foster a culture of accountability, accuracy, and continuous improvement
Skills & ExperienceEssential
- Proven experience as a CFO, Finance Director, or senior financial leader
- Strong financial planning, analysis, and reporting expertise
- Experience working closely with executive leadership and Boards
- Deep understanding of financial controls, compliance, and risk management
- Strong commercial acumen and strategic thinking capability
- Excellent leadership and stakeholder management skills
Desirable
- Experience within high-growth, SME, or PE-backed environments
- Exposure to international operations or multi-entity structures
- Experience in sectors such as technology, services, or consulting
- M&A, fundraising, or investment experience
Qualifications
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
- Relevant degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field
