SUMMARY:
We are seeking a knowledgeable and detail-oriented Chemical Expert to join our client's team. This role is ideal for a technically strong professional who combines chemical expertise with procurement insight and a strong commitment to safety, compliance, and operational efficiency.
POSITION INFO:
Key Responsibilities:
- Chemical Procurement & Inventory Control:
- Plan and manage chemical ordering in line with operational requirements
- Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers
- Maintain optimal stock levels to prevent shortages or overstocking
- Ensure correct storage and handling in accordance with safety standards
- Technical Advisory:
- Provide expert guidance on chemical selection and application
- Develop and review chemical specifications
- Troubleshoot operational challenges related to chemical usage
- Train staff on the correct handling, application, and safety procedures
- Compliance & Safety:
- Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations
- Maintain and update Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS)
- Oversee the safe storage and disposal of chemicals
- Conduct periodic safety audits and risk assessments
- Quality Assurance:
- Monitor chemical performance and effectiveness
- Conduct quality testing where required
- Recommend improvements to enhance efficiency and cost-effectiveness
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field
- 3–5 years’ relevant industry experience
- Strong knowledge of chemical safety, regulatory standards, and compliance requirements
- Experience in procurement and supplier management will be advantageous
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
