Role Description The Character Education Mentor is a full-time, on-site role based in Cairo, Egypt. In this position, the mentor guides students in developing core values, ethical decision-making, empathy, and social responsibility through structured lessons, discussions, and experiential activities. Day-to-day tasks include planning and delivering character education sessions, collaborating with teachers and school counselors to integrate values into the broader curriculum, and supporting students individually and in groups as they navigate social and emotional challenges. The mentor will also help organize school-wide initiatives, campaigns, and events that promote respect, inclusion, and community service, while maintaining clear documentation of student progress and contributing to ongoing program improvement.

Qualifications

  • Candidates should possess strong Education and Teaching skills, with experience in working with school-age students in a formal or informal learning environment.
  • Candidates should possess excellent Communication skills, including active listening, facilitation of group discussions, and clear written and verbal expression.
  • Candidates should possess Training and mentoring skills, with the ability to design and deliver workshops or sessions that build students’ character and social-emotional competencies.
  • Candidates should possess Customer Service and relationship-building skills to effectively engage students, families, and colleagues with empathy and professionalism.
  • Relevant qualifications such as a bachelor’s degree in Education, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field are preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience in character education, counseling, youth development, or similar roles is highly beneficial.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a diverse school community and model integrity, respect, and responsibility in daily interactions.
  • Strong organizational skills, reliability in following school policies, and proficiency in basic educational technology tools.
