Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Category Manager role based in Midrand. The Category Manager will be responsible for managing assigned product categories across their lifecycle, including range planning, pricing, promotion, and product performance analysis. Day-to-day tasks include monitoring sales and margin performance, analyzing consumer and market trends, and using data insights to optimize assortment and pricing strategies. The role involves collaborating with marketing, sales, supply chain, and finance teams to develop category plans, support new product launches, and ensure stock availability. The Category Manager will also manage relationships with suppliers and partners, prepare regular reporting and forecasts, and contribute to strategic initiatives aimed at driving category growth and profitability.
Qualifications

  • Proven experience in category management, product management, or merchandising, ideally within cosmetics, personal care, FMCG, or a related consumer goods environment.
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills, including proficiency with Excel and experience using data to drive decisions, forecast demand, and track KPIs.
  • Solid understanding of pricing, promotion, and assortment strategies, with the ability to translate market and consumer insights into actionable category plans.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams.
  • Demonstrated project management abilities, including planning, prioritizing, and delivering against deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Supply Chain, or a related field; an advanced degree or relevant professional certification is an advantage.
  • Comfort working on-site in Midrand and engaging regularly with internal teams and external partners.
  • Passion for the beauty and cosmetics industry, with a customer-centric mindset and a focus on continuous improvement and innovation.
