Carpet Fitter / Floor Covering Installer
An established EME based in Pretoria East (Waltloo) is seeking to appoint a reliable, detail-oriented, and hardworking Carpet Fitter / Floor Covering Installer to join their team. The ideal candidate will have relevant technical qualifications and extensive practical experience in carpet fitting and floor covering installation.
Minimum Requirements
- Minimum qualification: Relevant technical certification or training in carpet fitting / floor covering installation
- Minimum of 8 years’ experience in carpet fitting and floor covering installation
- Proven experience in:
- Carpet installation and fitting
- Floor covering systems (vinyl, laminate, tiles, etc.)
- Surface preparation and finishing
- At least one contactable reference
- Good understanding of safety standards and installation best practices
Skills and Competencies
- Strong technical and practical carpet fitting skills
- Ability to measure, cut, and install flooring materials accurately
- Attention to detail and quality workmanship
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to work under supervision and meet deadlines
- Physically fit and able to work on-site
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out carpet fitting and floor covering installations
- Prepare surfaces for installation (cleaning, leveling, etc.)
- Measure, cut, and install materials according to specifications
- Conduct basic fault finding and repairs where necessary
- Ensure all work complies with safety standards and quality requirements
- Support project teams on-site
- Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition
