Job Description
- Manage the Care Home and ensure effective service delivery to residents receiving oncology treatment.
- Oversee daily operations of the facility, including staff supervision and resident support services.
- Ensure compliance with organisational policies, administrative procedures, and financial management requirements.
- Support the sustainability of the Care Home through responsible budget management and fundraising initiatives.

Roles and Responsibilities
- Liaise and communicate professionally with patients and oncology treatment facilities.
- Manage referrals, bookings, patient intake, and orientation processes.
- Provide information and support to patients, including guidance related to cancer care.
- Supervise and manage Care Home staff and coordinate daily operational activities.
- Oversee administration and ensure compliance with financial and organisational policies.
- Monitor income and expenditure in line with the approved budget.
- Manage the medical aid claims process for private patients.
- Prepare and submit required monthly reports. Recruit, mentor, and supervise volunteers.
- Establish and maintain partnerships with stakeholders and treatment facilities.
- Serve as the Health and Safety Representative (SHE Rep), including identifying workplace hazards, assisting with incident investigations, coordinating emergency procedures, and communicating with the Health and Safety Committee.
- Facilitate fundraising initiatives and secure in-kind donations to support Care Home sustainability.
Qualifications And Requirements
- Qualified Social Worker with valid registration with the South African Council for Social Service Professions (SACSSP).
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience managing a care facility or similar institution.
- Basic knowledge and experience in financial administration or accounting.
- Competencies Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Bilingual in English and Afrikaans.
- Strong ability to engage with stakeholders, treatment facilities, and government departments.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and internet-based applications.
- Strong organisational, time management, and customer service skills.
- Professional attitude and presentation.
- Ability to provide emotional support to cancer patients and their families.
