Lasec SA is looking to recruit a Buyer for our Procurement Department based at the Ndabeni Office. Reporting to the Sourcing Manager, the incumbent will form part of the Local Procurement Team
Requirements that must be met:
- Minimum of 2-3 years’ experience in a buying/procurement role.
- A Bachelor of Commerce or similar business-related qualification is preferred.
- Strong negotiation and supplier management skills.
- High attention to detail coupled with strong analytical and reasoning skills.
- Ability to function independently and as part of a team.
- A high level of proficiency operating Microsoft Office, specifically Excel.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Understanding of supply chain processes and inventory management.
Summary of duties and responsibilities:
- Source and procure products in line with company requirements.
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and agreements with suppliers.
- Maintain and build strong supplier relationships.
- Monitor stock levels and ensure timely replenishment.
- Work closely with sales and operations teams to forecast demand.
- Ensure accurate record keeping of all purchases and supplier agreements.
- Analyse market trends to ensure competitive pricing and product availability.
- Assist with cost-saving initiatives and budget management.
- Perform any other tasks, duties, or projects as required by management.
