Butcher Jobs in Camps Bay at Maritime Finance PTY Ltd

  • Meat Preparation: Break down, bone, and trim carcasses into smaller cuts like roasts, steaks, and chops. Grind, season, and shape meat for specialty products like sausages and burgers.
  • Quality & Safety: Inspect meat for quality and freshness. Adhere strictly to Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) and food hygiene regulations to prevent contamination.
  • Retail Operations: Weigh, package, price, and display meat attractively in counter cases.
  • Customer Service: Advise customers on the best cuts of meat and provide cooking or preparation tips.
  • Inventory & Maintenance: Monitor stock levels, rotate products to minimize waste, and keep work areas, knives, and saws clean and sanitized.

Key Skills & Requirements

  • Physical Stamina: Ability to lift heavy carcasses and stand for long periods, often working in cold environments (e.g., walk-in refrigerators).
  • Manual Dexterity: Strong hand-eye coordination for precision cutting and trimming.
  • Product Knowledge: Deep understanding of animal anatomy, different meat grades, and seasoning techniques.
  • Equipment Proficiency: Expert handling of knives, meat saws, grinders, and tenderizers.

Pay: R15 000,00 – R25 000,00 per month
