Position Overview
An established online school is seeking a proactive and highly organised Business Manager to oversee daily operational, administrative, financial, and staff management functions. The successful candidate will ensure the smooth running of the school while maintaining high standards of academic support, customer service, compliance, and operational efficiency.
This role requires a strong leader with excellent people management, organisational, and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to work in a fast-paced educational environment.
Key ResponsibilitiesOperational Management
- Oversee day-to-day operations of the online school
- Ensure efficient administrative systems and workflows
- Coordinate schedules, meetings, reporting, and operational planning
- Monitor and improve operational processes and service delivery
- Ensure smooth communication between departments
Staff Management & Supervision
- Supervise academic, administrative, and support staff
- Allocate tasks and monitor staff performance and accountability
- Assist with recruitment, onboarding, and staff development
- Manage staff attendance, productivity, and performance reviews
- Foster a professional and positive working culture
Financial & Debtors Management
- Oversee invoicing, fee collection, and debtor follow-ups
- Monitor budgets, expenses, and operational costs
- Prepare financial reports for management
- Liaise with accountants and finance providers where necessary
- Assist with financial planning and forecasting
Quality Assurance & Compliance
- Ensure academic and operational quality standards are maintained
- Monitor customer service and parent/student satisfaction
- Assist in implementing continuous improvement initiatives
- Ensure compliance with educational policies and regulatory requirements
- Support accreditation and reporting processes where applicable
Client & Stakeholder Relations
- Communicate professionally with parents, students, and stakeholders
- Resolve escalated issues efficiently and diplomatically
- Maintain strong client relationships and school reputation
- Support enrolment and retention initiatives
Technology & Systems
- Oversee the effective use of online learning and management systems
- Ensure staff are using systems and platforms effectively
- Assist with troubleshooting and implementation of operational technologies
Minimum Requirements
- Relevant qualification in Business Management, Education Management, Administration, or related field
- Minimum 3–5 years management experience
- Strong leadership and organisational skills
- Experience in education, online learning, or school administration preferred
- Strong financial administration and debtors management experience
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office and online systems
- Ability to multitask and manage deadlines effectively
