Job Types: Permanent, one weekend a one off
Pay: R20 000,00 – R25 000,00 per month depending on experience
An extremely busy and fast paced service and retail store in Tyger Valley is looking for an exceptional manager. The right candidate will have the knowledge, skills and attitude to tackle this role like they are running their own business with the same passion and dedication for results.
This is an extremely high volume store with both service and retail offerings. A seasoned professional who can hit the ground running is essential. Past success directly managing teams of 10+ is a non negotiable. You will be able to demonstrate an ability to utilise data and reporting to gain the required insights to effectively manage both people and stock.
The store is open 7 days a week and will require working weekends and public holidays. You will have 8-9 days off per month incl one full weekend off – there is some room to negotiate this for the right candidate. You will generally work 9-6pm each day but need to be flexible as needed. The store hours are
9-8pm Mon to Sat
9-5pm Sun
Day to day this is a very varied role that will have elements of:
People management – you will be responsible for managing a team of 40+ . A strong track record managing large teams in a busy retail and / or service environment is a non negotiable
Guest management – ensuring every guest through our door leaves happy and we see them again. This will include managing and resolving all guest complaints to reasonable conclusion
Stock management – you are responsible for the store stock integrity and will oversee daily counts, weekly retail counts and monthly professional stock take
Training and quality of service delivery – you will manage all training planning and identify training needs to ensure that the store is always delivering the best quality service to our guests.
Admin – you will ensure that all admin is up to date and correct and manage the day to day operation of the admin team
We believe the person we are looking for will have the following minimum skills and qualifications (and we hope a lot of other hidden talents too!)
Matric qualification
People management incl initiating and managing disciplinary processes and data driven performance management
Excel competence – must have experience with reports and analysing data to drive decision making
Experience dealing with customers and handling difficult conversations
Excellent at building relationships with both customers and staff
Excellent time management skills – you will have many competing priorities to juggle
Experience with stock management and stock takes
