Location: South Africa (100% Remote)

Executive Summary

Danpal is seeking a high-autonomy leader to manage and expand Danpal’s footprint across the African continent. This role is a unique hybrid of Strategic Business Development, Market Management, Technical Specification Sales, and Brand Management. The successful candidate will be the sole representative for the region, responsible for directly managing five active markets (SA, Kenya, Ethiopia, Nigeria, Mauritius) and all future territory expansion within the continent.

Core Responsibilities

  • Market Management: Manage local distribution and installation partners across all active African countries. These include South Africa, Kenya, Ethiopia, Nigeria, and Mauritius.
  • Sales Management: Set targets for each country and drive sales by both collaborating with individual partner and by managing the pipeline.
  • Specification Sales: Drive the conversion of traditional glazing projects and new unspecified projects to Danpal systems.
  • Relationship Management: Build and maintain a network of market stakeholders and built-environment professionals such as architects, engineers, specialist installers, and project owners.
  • Technical Support: Conduct CPD talks for architects and other professionals, attend site meetings in person, and provide technical guidance where needed. Being able to utilize CAD programs in support of design integration is valuable.
  • Marketing Management: Implement marketing strategies to be implemented by regional partners. Work with each Danpal partner, providing oversight, and managing direction.  
  • Brand Management: Maintain brand integrity within the African market, ensuring consistency, visibility, and identity.
  • Budget Management: Develop and maintain a marketing budget for all activities throughout the year.
  • Training: Provide training on Danpal products and systems to local partners and their sales/marketing teams, while facilitating more advanced technical training with Danpal engineers.
  • Operational Autonomy: Manage all regional travel, CRM (Salesforce), and project pipelines independently. Report weekly to the Danpal’s VP ROW.

Candidate Requirements

  • Experience: 5+ years in construction/architectural specification sales, and sales management, with a track record in African markets. Understanding of marketing and brand management will be of significant benefit.
  • Education: Degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or Marketing/Sales is preferred.
  • Certifications: Accredited Green Building Professional or similar status would be favorable.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in AutoCAD or similar, Salesforce, Microsoft Office, and AI-driven marketing tools.
  • Attributes: Exceptional time management, ability to travel both locally and internationally, managing teams across multiple time zones, and comfortable reporting to a remote global HQ.
