Business Development Manager – Public Utilities (Water & Electricity)

We are seeking a Business Development Manager with strong experience in public sector sales, utility metering solutions, and technical B2G (business-to-government) sales within the water and electricity metering solutions industry.

Role Purpose

Drive business development, revenue growth, and market share expansion in the public utilities metering sector, focusing on municipal and state-owned utility clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute business development strategies targeting public sector utilities (municipalities and SOEs)
  • Identify market opportunities, industry trends, and competitor positioning in water and electricity metering
  • Lead and manage tender responses, RFQs, RFPs, proposals, and technical presentations
  • Build and maintain strategic relationships with public sector stakeholders
  • Drive contract negotiations and partnership development
  • Conduct market intelligence, pricing analysis, and competitor benchmarking
  • Collaborate with internal teams (technical, operations, finance) to support solution delivery
  • Develop business plans, forecasts, and revenue targets
  • Track sales performance, pipeline growth, and ROI on business initiatives
  • Support product and solution positioning within the utility sector

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Sales, Business Administration, Electrical Engineering, or related field
  • 3–5+ years’ experience in technical sales / business development
  • Strong experience in public sector procurement and tender processes (RFP/RFQ)
  • Proven track record in revenue growth and account expansion
  • Experience in utilities, metering, energy, or infrastructure environments
