PIMMS Group is seeking an experienced and results-driven Business Development Manager to identify new business opportunities, expand our customer base, and drive sustainable revenue growth within the plastic manufacturing and injection moulding industry.
The successful candidate will be responsible for developing strong customer relationships, generating new sales opportunities, and promoting PIMMS’ manufacturing capabilities and product solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the plastic manufacturing and injection moulding sectors.
- Develop and implement business development and sales strategies.
- Research potential markets, industries, customers, and product opportunities.
- Generate new leads through networking, referrals, cold calling, industry events, and market research.
- Build and maintain long-term relationships with new and existing customers.
- Understand customer requirements and recommend suitable manufacturing or product solutions.
- Prepare and present proposals, quotations, tenders, and business presentations.
- Negotiate pricing, commercial terms, and supply agreements.
- Collaborate with the production, technical, tooling, quality, supply chain, and finance departments.
- Ensure that proposed products and projects are technically and commercially viable.
- Manage the sales pipeline and maintain accurate records of leads, quotations, and customer engagements.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity, pricing, and industry developments.
- Achieve agreed sales, revenue, profitability, and customer acquisition targets.
- Attend customer meetings, site visits, exhibitions, and industry networking events.
- Provide regular business development reports and forecasts to management.
Minimum Requirements
- Relevant qualification in Business Management, Sales, Marketing, Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field.
- At least five years’ business development or technical sales experience.
- Experience within plastic manufacturing, injection moulding, or a related manufacturing environment is strongly preferred.
- Proven track record of generating new business and achieving sales targets.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, costing, quotations, and commercial negotiations.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-management skills.
- Strong negotiation and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and CRM or ERP systems.
- Valid driver’s licence and reliable transport.
- Willingness to travel to customers and business sites when required.
