OVERVIEW
The Broker Sales and Underwriting Support role provides administrative and advisory, sales, and technical support to brokers and underwriters. This includes assisting with new business quotations, renewals, policy documentation, and ensuring high levels of client and insurer service to facilitate business growth and compliance.
KEY RESPONSIBILTIES
- Support brokers in preparing and processing quotes, renewals, and endorsements across personal and commercial short-term insurance lines.
- Assist with data capturing, document collection, and liaising with clients for underwriting requirements.
- Communicate with insurers to obtain terms, follow up on submissions, and resolve queries.
- Track and manage pipeline business, ensuring timely follow-ups and updates to brokers and clients.
- Maintain accurate policy records, underwriting documentation, and compliance with regulatory standards (e.g., FAIS, FICA).
- Provide brokers with product information and assist in identifying cross-selling or upselling opportunities.
- Assist in preparing reports, presentations, and policy summaries as required by the sales team.
Any other reasonable duties and responsibilities in line with your capabilities and at the request of your Manager.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum 2–3 years’ experience in short-term insurance, preferably in a support or sales coordination role.
- FAIS-compliant – RE5, Short term insurance related qualification, Class of business – personal lines and class of business personal lines, ongoing CPD Training required
- Solid knowledge of underwriting processes, insurance products, and industry systems.
- Strong attention to detail, customer service orientation, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office and insurance administration systems.
