Brand Manager/Marketing – Johannesburg

POSITION INFO:

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Product / Brand Manager to take ownership of assigned brands and product ranges at a leading IT distribution company. The role is responsible for driving sales growth, managing vendor relationships, supporting the sales team, and ensuring profitable stock and product management.

Key Responsibilities

Product & Brand Management

  • Develop and implement sales and marketing plans for assigned brands.
  • Analyse market trends, competitors, pricing, and customer demand.
  • Identify growth opportunities and new markets.
  • Plan promotions, launches, campaigns, and events.

Vendor Management

  • Build strong supplier relationships.
  • Manage targets, rebates, promotions, and reporting requirements.
  • Negotiate pricing, deals, and stock support.
  • Stay updated on new products and technologies.

Sales Support

  • Train and support internal sales teams on products and positioning.
  • Assist with key account meetings, reseller support, and deal structuring.
  • Provide sales tools such as price lists, presentations, and product guides.
  • Help drive monthly sales targets.

Stock & Commercial Management

  • Manage purchasing, stock levels, forecasting, and ageing stock.
  • Ensure competitive pricing and healthy profit margins.
  • Monitor product performance, stock turns, and profitability.
  • Coordinate with logistics on stock availability and ETA updates.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Product Manager / Brand Manager, ideally in IT distribution.
  • Strong commercial, analytical, and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building ability.
  • Good understanding of stock control, margins, and forecasting.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced sales environment.
