Job Summary:
The Bookkeeper will support the day-to-day accounting function by maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, reconciling accounts, and preparing reports in a dynamic engineering environment. The role requires a detail-oriented, proactive individual with strong accounting fundamentals, good communication skills, and an interest in using technology and AI-enabled tools to improve financial accuracy and efficiency.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Diploma / Certificate in Accounting, Bookkeeping, or related field
- 2–5 years’ experience in a bookkeeping or similar finance role
- Accounting software experience (e.g., Pastel)
- Strong Microsoft Excel and MS Office skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Good understanding of accounting principles
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Exposure to or interest in AI tools in finance (automation, reconciliation, reporting, compliance)
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and maintain accurate financial records and general ledger entries
- Record daily financial transactions (invoices, payments, receipts)
- Reconcile bank statements and balance sheet accounts
- Support accounts payable and receivable processes
- Assist with monthly financial reports and schedules
- Maintain organized financial documentation
- Support internal and external audits
- Process staff claims and employee expenses
- Manage purchase orders and supplier vetting
- Track and verify external customer expenses
- Capture timesheets and invoicing data
- Manage cashbook, credit cards, and depreciation entries
- Identify discrepancies and escalate where required
- Provide administrative support (leave records, onboarding/offboarding)
Working hours:
08h00 –17h00, Monday to Friday (subject to change) with core hours and flexi time, and may require over time as per project. Leave is based on statutory requirements
