SUMMARY:
We are looking for a skilled and experienced Bookkeeper to join our dynamic team in Johannesburg. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in bookkeeping, payroll processing, and financial reporting, with the ability to manage multiple financial functions accurately and efficiently. This role is suited to a proactive individual who can contribute to budgeting processes, management reporting, and BEE assistance while ensuring compliance with financial standards.
POSITION INFO:
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate financial records, including general ledger and reconciliations
- Process and manage full payroll function, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant legislation
- Prepare and present monthly management reports
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes
- Perform bank, creditor, and debtor reconciliations
- Ensure timely processing of invoices, payments, and receipts
- Assist with BEE (Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment) reporting and compliance requirements
- Support month-end and year-end financial procedures
- Liaise with auditors and provide required documentation when needed
- Ensure compliance with company policies and financial regulations
Minimum Requirements and Qualifications:
- Matric (Grade 12) – essential
- Diploma or Certificate in Bookkeeping, Accounting, or Finance
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a bookkeeping role
- Proven experience in payroll processing
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices
- Proficiency in accounting and payroll software (e.g., Sage, Pastel, or similar)
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with budgeting and financial forecasting
- Knowledge of BEE compliance and reporting
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
