SUMMARY:

We are looking for a skilled and experienced Bookkeeper to join our dynamic team in Johannesburg. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in bookkeeping, payroll processing, and financial reporting, with the ability to manage multiple financial functions accurately and efficiently. This role is suited to a proactive individual who can contribute to budgeting processes, management reporting, and BEE assistance while ensuring compliance with financial standards.

POSITION INFO:

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintain accurate financial records, including general ledger and reconciliations
  • Process and manage full payroll function, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant legislation
  • Prepare and present monthly management reports
  • Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes
  • Perform bank, creditor, and debtor reconciliations
  • Ensure timely processing of invoices, payments, and receipts
  • Assist with BEE (Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment) reporting and compliance requirements
  • Support month-end and year-end financial procedures
  • Liaise with auditors and provide required documentation when needed
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and financial regulations

Minimum Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Matric (Grade 12) – essential
  • Diploma or Certificate in Bookkeeping, Accounting, or Finance
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a bookkeeping role
  • Proven experience in payroll processing
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices
  • Proficiency in accounting and payroll software (e.g., Sage, Pastel, or similar)
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with budgeting and financial forecasting
  • Knowledge of BEE compliance and reporting
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
