Primary purpose of the job:
All operations in Blending Plant (Decanting & Blending)
Department / Division:
Blending
Reports to:
Blending Plant Manager
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate the Blender machine
- Utilize pumps, filters, and scales throughout the blending process
- Verify the age and weight of raw materials before adding them
- Accurately complete labels and blend information sheets
- Take samples to the lab for approval
- Ensure blending process follows safety and quality standards
- Monitor machine operation and adjust when necessary
- Perform regular maintenance on machinery
- Maintain good housekeeping in and around blending plant.
- Ensure clean and tidy work environment.
- Learn all aspects regarding blending.
- Coordinate and communicate with other workers to ensure tasks are carried out on time and in an effective manner.
- Adherence to Policies, Procedures and Applicable Laws and Regulations.
- Perform non-routine / ad hoc tasks, when required.
- Report and attend to plant/equipment failure/breakdown immediately.
Level of Authority:
- Assists in all operation in Blending plant in order to improve process flow.
Knowledge,
Skills and Abilities
:
- Literate and able to communicate verbally and in writing.
- Mechanical skills (filters, pumps, valves & pipes)
- Interpersonal and troubleshooting skills
- Quality control
- On-the-job training, including instruction on proper operating and safety procedures.
Education and Experience:
- Matric certificate with Math
- Production experience
- Forklift certification a plus
- Reading Skills /li>
- Ability to stand for extended periods
