A Drilling and Blasting company is looking for a dynamic and driven Blaster to join their team in Phalaborwa.
Duties & Responsibilities
· Executing of blasts on Mine site
· Develop and implement blasting plans to optimise product extraction.
· Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to design effective blasting patterns.
· Provide technical expertise in blast optimisation.
· Monitor and analyze blast results to optimize fragmentation and minimize boulders, vibrations and fly rock.
· Communicate with client on size and location of blast to ensure that it fits in with the production requirements and the short-term mining plan.
Competencies:
· Computer Literacy – MS Office
· Proficient in Blast Design Software
· In-depth knowledge of explosives, blasting agents and safety regulations
· Proven track record in the surface mining industry.
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
· Background in electronic blasting (Davey Tronic would be an advantage)
Qualifications and Experience:
· Grade 12
· Competent A
· Open Cast Blasting Ticket – min 5 years’ experience
· Drivers license
Requirements:
· Police clearance
· Ability to Relocate to Phalaborwa – Relocate before starting work
Expected Start Date: June 2026
**SALARY NEGOTIABLE BASED ON EXPERIENCE**
