Position Overview
The BIM Operator / BIM Modeler is responsible for supporting the development, maintenance, and execution of BIM models and construction drawings across active commercial projects. This role works closely with project managers, estimators, foremen, and field teams to produce accurate models, shop drawings, layouts, and project documentation that support successful project execution. This is a hands-on production and modeling role focused on drafting, modeling, file management, and day-to-day project support in a fast-paced construction environment.
Key Responsibilities
BIM Modeling & Drafting:
- Create, update, and maintain BIM models, shop drawings, and construction layouts for active projects
- Provide day-to-day CAD drafting and BIM modeling support across multiple projects simultaneously
- Develop detailed drawings and model revisions based on project requirements, field conditions, and design updates
- Ensure all drawings and models maintain a high level of accuracy, detail, and organization
Project & Field Support
- Work closely with project managers, estimators, and foremen to support project execution and field coordination
- Assist in developing BIM plans and translating project scope into executable drawings and models
- Respond to drawing revisions, RFIs, and field-related updates in a timely manner
- Support field teams with drawing clarification, layout adjustments, and coordination needs
File Management & Documentation
- Manage and organize BIM files, project drawings, and documentation within Procore and internal systems
- Handle printing, plotting, electronic filing, and version control of all project plans and drawing sets
- Maintain organized project records and ensure current documentation is accessible to internal teams
Coordination & Technical Support
- Troubleshoot BIM-related issues and assist with resolving drawing or model conflicts
- Coordinate with internal teams to ensure models and drawings align with project timelines and requirements
- Support multiple ongoing projects while managing shifting priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Qualifications
- Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks, Procore, and Microsoft Office Suite required
- 2+ years of experience in BIM modeling, CAD drafting, or construction-related modeling support preferred
- Understanding of construction workflows, project coordination, and field operations
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple active projects simultaneously
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with project and field teams
- Strong communication, organization, and time management skills
Pay: $65,000.00 – $115,000.00 per year
