As we commission our new Carbonated Soft Drinks (CSD) production line alongside the continued expansion of our bottled water operations, we are looking for an ambitious and technically minded Beverage Production & Quality Officer to join our manufacturing team in Kakuma.

This is an exciting opportunity for an early-career professional who wants hands-on experience in beverage manufacturing while working directly with international technical partners to establish world-class production and quality systems.

The Role

Reporting to the Production Manager, the Beverage Production & Quality Officer will oversee the day-to-day operation of our beverage production lines while ensuring strict adherence to product quality, food safety, and manufacturing standards.

The successful candidate will play a critical role in commissioning our new CSD production line, maintaining quality standards for both carbonated beverages and bottled water, and continuously improving production efficiency.

Key ResponsibilitiesBeverage Production

  • Operate and supervise the Carbonated Soft Drinks (CSD) production line.
  • Support the production of purified bottled water.
  • Monitor production schedules to achieve output and efficiency targets.
  • Ensure correct machine settings and process parameters during production.
  • Assist in troubleshooting production issues and minimizing downtime.
  • Coordinate with maintenance personnel during preventive and corrective maintenance.

Quality Control & Food Safety

  • Perform in-process and finished product quality inspections.
  • Monitor beverage quality parameters including:
  • Brix (sugar concentration)
  • Carbonation levels
  • pH
  • Appearance and taste
  • Fill volumes
  • Packaging integrity
  • Conduct routine sanitation and hygiene inspections.
  • Ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
  • Support implementation of HACCP and food safety procedures.
  • Maintain product traceability and batch documentation.

Documentation & Compliance

  • Maintain accurate production records and quality control reports.
  • Record production yields, rejects, and wastage.
  • Prepare daily production and quality reports.
  • Assist during regulatory inspections and quality audits.
  • Ensure compliance with KEBS and other applicable food safety requirements.

Continuous Improvement

  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce wastage.
  • Support the development and implementation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Train production operators on quality standards and manufacturing best practices.
  • Work closely with external technical consultants and formulation specialists during product development and production optimization.

QualificationsMinimum Requirements

  • Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in any of the following:
  • Food Science & Technology
  • Food Processing Technology
  • Food Engineering
  • Industrial Chemistry
  • Applied Biology
  • Chemical Engineering
  • Food & Beverage Technology
  • Or another closely related discipline.
  • Minimum 1 year experience in:
  • Beverage manufacturing
  • Bottled water production
  • Dairy processing
  • Juice processing
  • Carbonated soft drinks
  • FMCG food manufacturing
