Watkins Distributing is a family owned and operated beverage distribution company that has serviced Idaho and Montana for four generations.
Job Summary:
Merchandisers travel to grocery stores and other beverage outlets to ensure our products are stocked, displayed, and rotated correctly in accounts along their route.
Job Responsibilities:
- Travel to multiple retail locations daily to merchandise beverage products
- Replenish shelves, coolers, displays, and backstock areas with product at customer locations
- Rotate product in accordance with freshness standards and first-in/first-out inventory practices
- Build, stock, maintain, and dismantle displays and endcaps according to company standards and sales plans
- Install signage, decals, and promotional materials as directed
- Safely handle beverage products, including lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling cases and kegs
- Use manual equipment such as hand trucks to transport and stock products
- Communicate effectively with store personnel, sales representatives, and delivery drivers
- Follow direction from supervisors and sales representatives regarding merchandising priorities
- Maintain product presentation, organization, and cleanliness at all assigned accounts
- Adhere to all company safety policies and proper lifting techniques at all times
- Perform all assigned duties in a timely, accurate, and efficient manner in accordance with established productivity standards
- Perform other duties as assigned
Preferred Skills & Abilities:
- Self-motivated, as they will not have a supervisor on site
- Organized, with excellent attention to detail and customer service orientation
- Enjoys a position where they are active and moving around often
- Prefers a flexible, dynamic position, as this is not a 9-5 “office job"
Physical Demands & Work Environment
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record with no major violations
- Reliable transportation to use throughout workday and proof of auto insurance.
- Must be able to lift and move cases ranging from 20 - 30 lbs. regularly. Tasks include bending, squatting, reaching, and standing for extended periods
- Work independently across multiple retail locations, including early mornings and during weekends or peak holiday periods
- Operate delivery vehicle safely in frequently varying weather conditions
