Job Title: Barista / Beverage Specialist

Job Summary:
We are looking for a skilled and enthusiastic Barista / Beverage Specialist to join our team. This role involves preparing and serving a variety of drinks, including coffee, smoothies, mocktails, and other hot and cold beverages, while maintaining high-quality standards and excellent customer service. No cashier duties are required.
Key Responsibilities:
Coffee & Hot Beverage Preparation:
- Prepare and serve high-quality espresso-based drinks (e.g., lattes, cappuccinos, Americanos) and other hot beverages.
- Operate and maintain espresso machines and grinders efficiently.
- Ensure coffee consistency by following proper brewing techniques.
- Steam and texture milk to create a smooth, velvety finish for drinks.
- Prepare specialty hot drinks such as teas and hot chocolate.
Smoothie & Mocktail Preparation:
- Blend and serve fresh smoothies using a variety of fruits, vegetables, and dairy/non-dairy bases.
- Prepare and mix mocktails using fresh ingredients, syrups, and garnishes.
- Ensure drinks are presented attractively and meet quality standards.
- Maintain knowledge of ingredient pairings and flavor combinations to provide recommendations.
Customer Service:
- Greet customers warmly and provide friendly, professional service.
- Take and confirm beverage orders accurately.
- Provide drink recommendations based on customer preferences.
- Ensure all drinks meet quality and presentation standards before serving.
Operations & Cleanliness:
- Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked beverage station.
- Regularly clean and sanitize blenders, espresso machines, juicers, and other equipment.
- Follow food safety and hygiene regulations, ensuring proper ingredient storage and handling.
- Restock coffee beans, milk, syrups, fruits, ice, and other ingredients as needed.
Teamwork & Efficiency:
- Work collaboratively with team members to ensure smooth service, especially during peak hours.
- Assist with opening and closing duties, including restocking and deep cleaning.
- Communicate effectively with the kitchen and service team to ensure smooth workflow.
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a Barista or in beverage preparation (smoothies, mocktails, or coffee) is preferred but not required.
- Passion for high-quality drinks and customer service.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain consistency in drink preparation.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask efficiently.
- Commitment to cleanliness, hygiene, and organization.
- Flexible availability, including weekends and holidays.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with latte art and specialty coffee techniques.
- Knowledge of different coffee beans, roasts, and brewing methods.
- Familiarity with fresh juice and smoothie recipes.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for long periods.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 10kg (e.g., milk cartons, fruit crates, coffee bean bags).
