Job Summary / Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced AutoTech – Technical Support Specialist to support our technical operations and customer pre-booking journey for 6-months Fixed Term Contract. In this role, you will apply your hands-on automotive knowledge to assist customers, validate and enhance repair quotes, and support internal teams when automated systems require expert input.
You will also handle inbound customer inquiries via chat and email, ensuring timely, accurate, and customer-focused resolutions while contributing to an excellent end-to-end customer experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and validate automated quote engine outputs, creating custom repair quotes when required
- Interpret customer-reported vehicle symptoms and recommend appropriate repair solutions
- Handle inbound customer inquiries via chat and email during the pre-booking stage
- Use parts lookup tools, workshop manuals, and repair data sources to ensure quote accuracy
- Clearly explain repair needs, pricing, and next steps to customers in a non-technical manner
- Collaborate with product and operations teams to improve repair categorisation and pricing logic
- Document edge cases, technical findings, and system improvements to support automation enhancements
- Provide technical and parts-related guidance to internal teams and partner mechanics
- Maintain accurate ticket handling and ensure timely resolution of customer inquiries
Required Qualifications / What We’re Looking For
- Practical, hands-on experience in car repair, servicing, or automotive diagnostics
- Strong ability to assess vehicle symptoms and identify plausible repair solutions
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
- Detail-oriented and methodical approach to troubleshooting and quote validation
- Comfortable handling multiple tickets and customer interactions in a remote environment
- Self-motivated, proactive, and accountable approach to problem-solving
Preferred Skills / Nice to Have
- Knowledge of UK automotive parts, labour standards, and repair pricing
- Experience working with hybrid or electric vehicles
- Familiarity with CRM systems or customer support ticketing tools
- Prior experience in customer support, advisory, or technical assistance roles
- Experience working in a startup or fast-paced environment
Work Schedule
- Fully remote role based in South Africa
- Working hours aligned with UK business hours
- UK Time (GMT): Monday to Friday, 08:00 – 18:00 (including one weekend day as required)
- South Africa Time (SAST): Monday to Friday, 10:00 – 20:00 (including one weekend day as required)
